You can expect a response typically in less than a week unless otherwise stated on a guest spot post. Make sure you add my email (ustiwayacreations@gmail.com) to your whitelist - as many of my clients have mentioned my responses going into their spam folder!
Where do you tattoo? I tattoo at The Nest Tattoo Studio in the Old Town neighborhood of San Diego
I also frequently travel to NC & Bloomington, IN to tattoo. I will announce when I am traveling through either my substack (you can sign up here) or instagram.
What’s your rate? $200/hr with an additional $100 drawing fee for all custom designs (also your deposit). Most of my tattoos range anywhere from 2 hours to a full day or multiple day sessions for larger works. For full day sessions, I charge $1000-1200 sliding scale. Sliding scale options always available, but I also ask you to honor my time with a fair assessment of your budget. I am also always willing to talk with people about payment plan options for larger scale work.
What is your cancelation policy? I will allow one rescheduling date (but we will have to work around my other bookings & may require another deposit)! All deposits are non-refundable. This policy protects me, my work & other eager clients awaiting to be scheduled. I won’t work with you if you no call, no show.
What should I bring to my tattoo appointment/how to prepare? I always suggest you eat a meal before being tattooed. Bring yourself water, snacks, an extra layer of clothing and anything you need to feel comfortable. I also suggest getting clear on your intentions for being tattooed - we can discuss this further before your session or you can hold your intention privately. Tattooing one’s body is magic - the images, symbols and experience will go on to live in your skin forever and act as a prayer for your intentions. Do not drink alcohol or consume drugs before your tattoo. For longer sessions - if you are concerned about pain you could bring Tylenol (acetaminophen) with you as it is a pain reliever and calms inflammation. Avoid blood thinners like asprin, ibuprofen (Advil) and naproxen (Aleve). If you have menstrual cycles, please be mindful of this when scheduling your appt (our luteal and menstrual time our bodies are most sensitive).
When can I expect to see my design? I will sometimes send rough sketches throughout my design process to get a clearer idea of your vision - but not always. The final design isn’t always shown until the day of the session. I am hoping that you found my art because you connect with my style & are willing to trust my process. If you would like to have the design before a certain date - please let me know early on…I can try my best to accommodate you.
