Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) has various different purposes medicinally - an overall healer in my book. Associated with the Moon & Venus, this is a great oil for various conditions - anything from endometriosis, menstrual pain, fibroids, ovarian cysts, all the way to helping with digestive upset, excess gas, arthritis/joint pain, anxiety, sleep disturbances & more.

Mugwort acts as a uterine tonic & emmenagogue (stimulates menstrual flow) - bringing circulation back to the uterus to aid in regular menses. It also acts as a choleretic – a substance that increases the volume of secretion of bile from the liver, helping to transport and release toxins whilst providing great benefit to the digestive system. A bitter digestive that can relieve stomach acidity, dyspepsia, travel sickness and acute bowel and stomach pain. 

My favorite way to work with Mugwort is through its more esoteric properties - being used as an aid for astral projection, lucid dreaming & bringing forth prophetic visions. It can be used to initiate conversation with spirits or invoke subtle states of altered consciousness. Additionally Mugwort was used as a protective herb - carried in a traveler’s shoe to ward off robbers, placed underneath a pillow to protect one from nightmares, & grown at ones garden gate to prevent darker energies from entering the home.

I recommend using this oil in any way you would like to work with the powerful Mugwort. In the past, I have used her to assist with painful period pain & help break up ovarian cysts that have formed. I have also used her in a tincture form to help with digestive upset, anxiety, my own creative process, & to assist me in dream recall. This oil can be used all over the body as a way to nourish your skin & offer overall protection as you move through your day - it really is up to you.

The base oil is 100% organic olive oil with a slight amount of 80 proof vodka for a deeper extraction.
