The hawk is one of the most mystical birds of prey ~ they are messengers, protectors, & visionaries of the air.

All birds of prey show up as reminders to allow ourselves to see everything from a higher perspective. But the red-tailed hawk has significant ties to the kundalini, the seat of primal life force energy or Shakti. In the human body, this area of the body the kundalini is associated with is located at the base of the spine ~ or the root chakra. Most often, when the red-tailed hawk shows up in one’s life it can be a powerful awakener for the kundalini energy. It can also reflect that soul visions are being empowered & activated. Or, the red-tail can become a guide during a time in one’s life where they are being encouraged to step into their purpose more dynamically.

The red-tail is a member of the buteo family - the soaring hawks. The ability to soar & glide gracefully upon the currents of life’s ups & downs is one of hawks teachings. Hawks are also very often attacked by smaller birds. This is important for anyone that carries the hawk spirit because it is best to be aware of your power & how some may try to disrupt your ability to “soar.”

Red-tails usually mate for life, cling to their home territories, and vigorously defend their nests.

This illustration is meant to help one meditate and ponder the different levels of consciousness. Rising to a higher level can bring on a rapid development of psychic energy. The red-tailed hawk helps us balance & use those newly discovered psychic senses wisely.
