We Chose Which Direction We Go | Hand Screen-Printed Poster
A design created for a fundraiser some friends were putting on to raise funds for families impacted by ICE.
These designs were inspired by a museum visit where they had arrowheads displayed in this mandala like pattern. When asked to participate in this fundraiser, I knew I wanted to be intentional about the art I created for it and what message I wanted to send. I kept hearing the phrase “we decide which direction we go.” I hope that this phrase can invoke people to wildly imagine, dream, believe, and create futures we want vs the imposed oppressive systems operating now.
We are at a very important precipice point in our collective right now. We decide what future we want to create, what world we want to build. This puts the responsibility back in our hands. Find your autonomy and your role in how you can be of service to those around you. I think it’s important to build trust with yourself. In my opinion this is where change will happen. No masters, no leaders will save us. What radical dreams do you have that you want to see come to be?
Printed on heavyweight 100lb, acid-free, vellum surface bristol paper. They are 13 × 13 inches, using an acrylic ink. *All are screen-printed by hand so you can expect variations in print quality.
40% of funds go to assisting families impacted by ICE.
